Bio: Juergen Fischer

I hail from Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany, and my lifelong journey with German Shepherds traces back to the early 1970s, rooted in my childhood experiences. Upon immigrating to Canada in 2004, I swiftly immersed myself in training and showcasing German Shepherds in the esteemed sport of Schutzhund/IPO. My inaugural success came with Xena, whom I nurtured from six weeks of age to attaining the SchH3 title by the age of three. Subsequently, I’ve achieved numerous accolades with dogs trained from BH to IPO3, including FH, under the kennel name “von Datschiburg,” a homage to my hometown.

I have ardently participated as a handler and breeder, showcasing my dogs’ prowess in both working trials and conformation shows, ensuring their adherence to the breed standards set forth by respective organizations. Notable achievements include guiding dogs to national and regional championships, as well as representing Canada at prestigious international events, including the World Championships.

Throughout my journey, I’ve remained deeply engaged in the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada, serving in various capacities from team captain to trial director, and contributing to very important committees.

With a total of twelve litters under my breeding program, I continue to uphold a steadfast commitment to excellence, both as a breeder and as a stalwart advocate for the advancement of the German Shepherd breed and the sport of Schutzhund.

“Our goal is to breed the working line with healthy, spirited, and drive-resistant German Shepherds possessing a conformation suitable for breeding approval. Furthermore, it is important for us to breed for a proper balance between prey drive and natural aggression, deserving of the name German Shepherd!”

German Shepherd breeding is working dog breeding, it must always remain working dog breeding, otherwise it is no longer German Shepherd breeding!” (Captain Max von Stephanitz, Founder of the German Shepherd Dog).
